Individuals

Individual psychotherapy is a way for you to learn about yourself, not only in terms of mere information, but also in the form of deeply felt and meaningful knowledge that can help you resolve the problems that brought you to therapy and make your life more rewarding.

One of the things I’ve learned in the ten years of working with many different types of people is that no two people are alike—each person requires an individualized approach in order to heal and grow. For this reason, I rely on my own experience as a therapist to help you reach the depth of understanding you’re looking for—one that can only emerge within the context of our work together in a conversation of discovery.
Here Are Some of the Concerns That I’ve Helped People Navigate Through Individual Therapy
  • Feelings of loneliness, sadness, anxiety, worry, depression or grief
  • Being unable to form or maintain intimate relationships with others
  • Difficulty connecting or expressing needs and emotions with family, friends, colleagues or romantic partners
  • Exploring sexual orientation and gender identity
  • Professional or career challenges / transitions
  • A sense that life itself no longer seems fulfilling or in general does not “feel right”

Couples

Many of the issues couples come to see me with are usually at least in part caused by difficulty in communicating, which can lead to a vicious cycle—as the problems become more severe, communication breaks down further, leading to more problems, leading to more difficulty in communicating and on and on.

Couples counseling creates a safe place where both you and your partner can begin to get your needs and feelings across to each other—including the desire to change—without fear of being attacked or criticized.

I help couples address their issues productively. We work to achieve thorough communication so that we can turn your conflicts into solutions.
